The precise start and end points of the path are not well defined, not
least because Hardwell Barn has long since disappeared and current edition
OS 1:25000 and 1:50000 maps do not show it (the barn is shown on older
maps: OS 1:50000 "Popular Edition 1919" map). Nonetheless the route is
obvious. This path comprises the total extent of the Ridgeway path within
the parish. From the western end the route heads gently uphill, eventually
being crossed by the "Woolstone to Lambourn Road". After this
junction, the gradient increases slightly. The path ends at the parish
boundary which is at the westernmost extent of Uffington Castle. From this
point the Ridgeway continues eastwards through the parish of Uffington.
